Why should professional bodybuilders aim for 15 repetitions?
I read in an interview on Jay Cutler pointing to 15 repetitions. Also I've seen him and other bodybuilders training and its goal of 15 repetitions usually. Do these guys know nothing about bodybuilding or just inject steroids into it same? Why 15 reps trying to get bigger?
I see Jay in the gym all the time and not only train only in this range of repetitions. Cultures are always changing the number of repetitions that are performed depending of what stage of training that are in a time under the stress of 45-60 seconds per set is optimal to stimulate hypertrophy. This amounts to about 6 seconds proxy or the 8-10 rep range per set. So for a bodybuilder 8.10 representative range is really low for the 15-20 rep range is more in the category of medium and high reps for bodybuilders is around 20-50 repetitions per set. a wider range representative is necessary for the efficient fatigue of slow-twitch, intermediate and fast-twitch muscle fiber types. regardless of the number of repetitions that are used during training of the diet ultimately determines the size of muscles. and this is exactly why 95% of people who train for size never achieve their goals. go to the gym and training is the easy, but consumes 5.7 healthy meals every day for years is not.
